Product Introduction
Enzanamo 40mg Tablet contains enzalutamide, an androgen receptor inhibitor used to treat prostate cancer in men. It is indicated for patients with high testosterone levels where prior hormonal therapy or testosterone-lowering surgery has not achieved complete disease control. It is also used in metastatic prostate cancer that has spread beyond the prostate and responds to hormone therapy or testosterone-lowering procedures. Additionally, it is used in castration-sensitive prostate cancer without metastases but with high risk of metastatic progression and biochemical recurrence.
Do not take Enzanamo 40mg Tablet if you are allergic to enzalutamide or any other ingredient in this medicine. This tablet is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Men must use effective contraceptive methods during treatment and for 3 months after completion, as the medicine can harm the developing foetus. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy to discuss appropriate contraceptive options.
Bone density testing is recommended during treatment. Before starting therapy, inform your physician of any active infections or existing kidney, heart, or liver disease. Patients with ischaemic heart disease require close monitoring for risk factors. Report to your doctor immediately if you experience seizures, worsening headache, disorientation, blindness, or other vision disturbances. Provide your physician with a complete list of all medicines, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are taking before initiating therapy.
Uses
Prostate cancer resistant to other treatments Metastatic prostate cancer reacts to hormone therapy or surgery to reduce testosterone levels Non-metastatic prostate cancer with a high chance of spread and recurrence.
How it works
Enzalutamide acts by blocking the activity of androgens hormone (such as testosterone) by binding with androgen receptors. It prevents the Androgen receptor from moving to its new site, which further lowers AR-mediated transcriptional activity and stops the growth of tumour cells. Enzanamo 40mg Tablet inhibits the AR complex's ability to bind to DNA, which stops the transcriptional activation of AR target genes. As a result, it reduces testosterone levels and halts the growth and division of prostate cancer cells.
How to Use
Enzanamo 40mg Tablet is usually taken orally, with or without food. The capsules should be swallowed whole with a glass of water and not crushed, chewed or broken. The dosage and frequency of Enzanamo 40mg Tablet will depend on various factors, including the patient's age, weight, overall health, and the type and stage of cancer being treated. It's important to follow the dosing instructions provided by a healthcare provider and not adjust the dosage or frequency without consulting with them first. Pregnant or potentially pregnant women shouldn't handle broken or damaged Xtandi tablets without wearing gloves or other protective gear. If a dose is missed, it should be taken as soon as possible unless it's within 6 hours of the next scheduled dose. In that case, the missed dose should be skipped, and the regular dosing schedule should be resumed. It's important not to take a double dose of abemaciclib to make up for a missed dose.
