Product Introduction
Epialfa 50mg Injection contains epirubicin hydrochloride, an antineoplastic agent of the anthracycline class. It is used as adjuvant therapy in combination with other medications for breast cancer in patients following surgical tumour removal. The medicine is also indicated for cancers of the breast, ovaries, stomach, bowel, and lung. It is used to treat malignancies of blood-forming tissues, including malignant lymphomas, leukaemias, and multiple myeloma.
Do not use this injection if you are allergic to epirubicin or any other component of this medicine, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have severe liver and bladder dysfunction. Before beginning treatment, inform your physician if you have kidney or liver problems, have received recent vaccination, or have acute toxicities such as acute oral inflammation, low white blood cell count, low platelet count, or active infections. This medicine may increase your risk of blood clots.
Substitutes for Epialfa 50mg Injection include Epithra 50, Epineon 50, and Epricin 50 injections, each containing epirubicin 50mg, available only under physician supervision. The medicine may cause infertility in both men and women; inform your physician if pregnancy is planned. If sexually active, effective contraception is advised to prevent pregnancy. Your doctor will conduct regular laboratory tests to monitor the effects of this medicine.
Common side effects include decreased white blood cell count, decreased platelets, irregular menstruation, weakness, nausea or vomiting, diarrhoea, eye infection, skin rashes, and itchiness. Epialfa 50mg Injection pricing in India varies by retailer and location.
