Product Introduction
Eraxis 100mg Injection is an antifungal medication belonging to the class of fungal ergosterol synthesis inhibitors. It contains the active ingredient Anidulafungin and is used to treat certain invasive fungal infections. The medication is effective against various types of invasive candidiasis, including candidemia (Candida bloodstream infection) and oesophagal candidiasis (fungal infection of the oesophagus). Invasive candidiasis occurs when Candida yeasts enter the bloodstream or other internal organs and cause systemic infections.
Eraxis 100mg Injection is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to the medication or any of its components. If liver problems develop during treatment, your doctor may choose to monitor liver function more closely. Since Eraxis 100mg Injection is primarily metabolised in the liver, regular assessment of liver function is important, particularly in patients with pre-existing liver conditions. Inform your physician, including anaesthesiologists, about your treatment with this medication, especially before undergoing surgery or receiving anaesthesia. Certain anaesthetics may interact with this medication, and it is necessary for medical professionals to be aware of your complete medication history.
Pay attention to any unusual symptoms such as shortness of breath, breathing difficulties, lightheadedness, or dizziness during treatment. If you experience any of these symptoms, contact your physician immediately. The safety of Eraxis 100mg Injection in pregnant women is unknown, and it is not recommended during pregnancy due to limited data. If a woman of childbearing potential is prescribed this medication, it is essential to use effective contraception during the treatment period to avoid pregnancy. The effect of this medication on breastfeeding women is not known. Breastfeeding women should contact their doctor for advice before taking this medicine.
Uses
Treatment of invasive candidiasis (fungal bloodstream infections) Management of oesophagal candidiasis (fungal infection of the oesophagus) Effective against Candida species, including fluconazole-resistant strains Used in hospitalized patients with severe fungal infections Helps in immunocompromised patients (e.g., cancer, organ transplant recipients)
How it works
Eraxis 100mg Injection (Anidulafungin) is an antifungal medication used to treat invasive candidiasis and esophageal candidiasis. It works by inhibiting fungal cell wall synthesis, leading to the destruction of Candida species, including fluconazole-resistant strains. This injection is particularly beneficial for immunocompromised patients, such as those undergoing chemotherapy or organ transplants, as it helps control severe fungal infections. By reducing symptoms like fever, chills, and organ dysfunction, Eraxis promotes faster recovery and lowers the risk of complications. Its broad-spectrum antifungal action makes it a crucial treatment option for systemic fungal infections.
How to Use
Eraxis 100mg Injection is administered directly into the vein intravenously (IV). It is available as a powder for reconstitution, and a physician will prepare and administer the medication through a vein. The IV infusion is usually given over a period of one to two hours.
