Product Introduction
Erlotad 100mg Tablet contains erlotinib, an anticancer medicine belonging to the class of tyrosine kinase receptor inhibitors. It is used in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), an advanced and spreading type of lung cancer. When used in combination with gemcitabine, a chemotherapeutic medicine, it is also used to treat pancreatic cancer. It works by blocking the protein that increases the growth of cancer, known as epidermal growth factor receptors (EGFR). If a test has shown that your cancer has certain changes in a gene called EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor), the cancer can respond to treatment with this medicine. Inform your doctor before starting treatment if you are using any stomach acid-lowering medicine, as it may prevent erlotinib from working. Inform your doctor if you have any kidney or lung-related problems. Make sure to inform your doctor of all the medicines you are taking before you start treatment with this medication. Report any symptoms of difficulty breathing together with a cough or fever, chest pain, fever, weakness, or seizures.
