Product Introduction
Erlotad 150mg Tablet contains erlotinib, an anticancer medicine that acts as a tyrosine kinase receptor inhibitor. It is indicated in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), an advanced and metastatic form of lung cancer. When used alongside gemcitabine, a chemotherapeutic agent, it is also indicated for pancreatic cancer treatment. The medicine works by blocking epidermal growth factor receptors (EGFR), a protein that drives cancer cell growth. Patients whose cancer demonstrates specific EGFR gene mutations may respond to treatment with this medicine based on genetic testing results.
Before commencing treatment, inform your doctor if you are taking any stomach acid-lowering medicines, as these may reduce the effectiveness of erlotinib. Disclose to your physician any existing kidney or lung-related conditions. Provide a complete list of all medicines you are currently taking prior to starting treatment with this medication.
Report the following symptoms to your physician: difficulty breathing accompanied by cough or fever, chest pain, fever, weakness, or seizures.
