Product Introduction

Erypro Prefil 5000 IU Injection contains recombinant human erythropoietin alfa (epoetin alfa), which belongs to the class of erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs). It is indicated for treatment of anaemia resulting from chronic kidney disease (CKD), chemotherapy, or HIV treatment with zidovudine. The medicine helps reduce the requirement for blood transfusions, particularly in patients at elevated risk of blood loss during surgical procedures. Administration of this injection is performed by a healthcare professional and is not intended for self-administration. Dosage and treatment duration must be determined according to your doctor's prescription.

Uses

Erypro Prefil 5000 IU Injection is used to treat: Anaemia in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) Anaemia caused by cancer chemotherapy Anaemia due to HIV treatment with zidovudine

How it works

This medicine works by stimulating the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body. It mimics the action of natural erythropoietin, a hormone normally produced by the kidneys.

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Erypro Prefil may cause some side effects. Most are mild and go away on their own. Common side effects: Headache Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhoea Muscle cramps Fatigue or dizziness Fever, chills Pain, redness, or swelling at the injection site Serious side effects (rare but need medical attention): High blood pressure Blood clots Stroke or heart attack Seizures Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty) Tumour growth in some cancer patients

Expert Tips

Do not self-inject. Always let a trained healthcare provider give you the shot. Monitor your blood pressure and red blood cell count regularly. Stay hydrated and avoid long periods of inactivity to lower the risk of blood clots. Inform your doctor if you experience unusual fatigue, chest pain, or swelling in your legs. Do not stop treatment without your doctor’s advice.
