Product Introduction
Esogress 40mg Tablet is an antiulcer medication belonging to the class of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). It contains esomeprazole as its active ingredient. This medication is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (a condition in which stomach acid and contents reflux into the oesophagus, causing heartburn, regurgitation, and difficulty swallowing), peptic ulcers, and other acid-related disorders. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop an allergic reaction to this drug or its ingredients. Patients with severe liver impairment may experience reduced liver function, which can affect the metabolism and clearance of Esogress 40mg Tablet. In such patients, dose adjustment or alternative treatment options may be necessary. This tablet may cause side effects including dizziness, drowsiness, or vision changes in some individuals. If these effects occur, avoid activities requiring alertness such as driving, cycling, or operating machinery until symptoms resolve. Prolonged use of this medicine may lead to low magnesium levels in the body (hypomagnesaemia). Symptoms of low magnesium include fatigue, muscle spasms or weakness, irregular heartbeat, and seizures. If you develop any of these symptoms, notify your doctor immediately. Discuss the use of Esogress 40mg Tablet with your physician if you are pregnant, suspect pregnancy, or are breastfeeding.
Uses
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) Peptic Ulcer
How it works
Esogress 40mg Tablet works by irreversibly binding to the proton pump and inhibiting its function. By doing so, it blocks the final step of acid production. Specifically, this drug inhibits the enzyme's ability to transport hydrogen ions (protons) into the stomach, thereby reducing gastric acid secretion.
How to Use
Take the Esogress 40mg Tablet as your physician advises. Usually, the tablets will be taken with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or open the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the tablet if your doctor advises you to stop.

While taking this medicine, making certain dietary modifications to support your treatment may be helpful.
