Product Introduction
Esomac 20mg tablet is an antiulcer medication belonging to the class of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). It contains esomeprazole as the active ingredient. This medicine is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (where stomach acid and contents flow back into the oesophagus, causing heartburn, regurgitation, and difficulty swallowing), peptic ulcers, and other acid-related disorders.
Seek immediate medical advice if you develop an allergic reaction to this medicine or any of its ingredients. Patients with severe liver impairment may have reduced liver function, which can affect how the body metabolises and eliminates esomac 20mg tablet. In such situations, dose adjustment or alternative treatments may be necessary.
This tablet may cause side effects including dizziness, drowsiness, or vision changes in some individuals. If these occur, avoid activities requiring alertness such as driving, cycling, or operating machinery until symptoms resolve.
Long-term use may lead to low magnesium levels (hypomagnesemia) in the body. Symptoms include fatigue, muscle spasms or weakness, irregular heartbeat, and seizures. Inform your doctor immediately if you develop any of these symptoms.
Discuss the use of esomac 20mg tablet with your physician if you are pregnant, suspect you may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

How it works
Esomac 20mg tablet works by irreversibly binding to the proton pump and inhibiting its function. By doing so, it blocks the final step of acid production. Specifically, this drug inhibits the enzyme's ability to transport hydrogen ions (protons) into the stomach, thereby reducing gastric acid secretion.
How to Use
Take the esomac 20mg tablet as your physician advises. Usually, the tablets will be taken with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or open the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the tablet if your doctor advises you to stop.
