Product Introduction

Etova Injection is a prescription medication classified as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). The active ingredient, Etodolac, is effective for managing pain and inflammation. It is primarily prescribed for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and acute pain management. By reducing inflammation, it provides relief from joint stiffness and discomfort, helping improve patients' quality of life. Etova Injection is generally safe when used as directed, but careful monitoring is necessary in patients with pre-existing cardiovascular disease, liver or kidney impairment, or a history of gastrointestinal ulcers. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or those with active bleeding disorders.

Uses

Etova Injection is FDA-approved for the following: Management of osteoarthritis Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis Relief of acute pain, including post-surgical pain

How it works

Etodolac reduces inflammation and pain by blocking the activity of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes. These enzymes are crucial in producing prostaglandins, substances that promote inflammation, pain, and fever in the body. By inhibiting COX, the drug alleviates these symptoms, providing relief without significantly impacting the stomach lining compared to older NSAIDs.

How to Use

Etova Injection should be taken as prescribed by your healthcare provider. The usual dose ranges from 200 to 400 mg, taken 2-3 times daily, depending on the condition being treated. It is available in both immediate-release and extended-release tablet forms. To minimise stomach irritation, always take Etova Injection with food or milk. Swallow the tablet whole with water and avoid breaking, chewing, or crushing it unless instructed otherwise.

Common Side Effects: Nausea Heartburn Dizziness Diarrhea or constipation Serious Side Effects: Severe stomach pain or black stools (sign of gastrointestinal bleeding) Swelling or rapid weight gain (indicates possible kidney issues) Yellowing of the skin or eyes (liver issues) Chest pain or difficulty breathing (cardiovascular concerns)
