Product Introduction

Evadiol Tablet contains estradiol, an active ingredient belonging to vaginal Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) medicines. It is a hormone classified as an estrogen with properties identical to the naturally occurring estrogen synthesised by women's ovaries. The tablet is indicated for treating menopausal symptoms such as vaginal atrophy (dryness or irritation of the vagina) in elderly women who have passed the menopausal stage.

Do not use Evadiol Tablet if you are allergic to estradiol or its constituents. It is contraindicated in patients with breast cancer or any oestrogen receptor-sensitive cancer. Do not use this tablet if you have a clotting disorder, blood clots in the veins (lungs or legs), or unexplained vaginal bleeding. Evadiol Tablet is not advised in patients with a history of heart attack, stroke, angina, or abnormal liver function tests. It is not given to patients with porphyria, a rare inherited blood disorder.

Estrogen intake elevates the risk of gallbladder disease. Discontinue estrogen if you experience cholestatic jaundice, severe hypertriglyceridemia, severe hypercalcemia, or vision loss. Close monitoring is advised for women receiving thyroid replacement treatment. Inform your doctor if you have vaginal bleeding, heart, kidney, lung or liver problems, diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, or hearing disorder. Discuss with your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Inform your healthcare provider about all medicines you are taking, including herbal, vitamin, and over-the-counter preparations.

Uses

Relieve menopausal symptoms of 'vaginal atrophy' (in the vagina such as dryness or irritation) Treatment for hypogonadism, castration, or primary ovarian failure-related hypoestrogenism Preventing osteoporosis after menopause

How it works

Evadiol Tablet primarily acts by binding to estrogen receptors (ERs) present on the surface of target cells upon binding to its receptor, Evadiol Tablet induces a conformational change in the receptor, leading to its activation. Evadiol Tablet replaces estrogen (female sex hormone) and prevents the symptoms of menopause, like vaginal irritation or dryness.

How to Use

Take Evadiol Tablet exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Do not adjust the dosage or frequency without consulting your doctor. Take your Evadiol Tablet at the same time each day to maintain a consistent level of hormones in your body. Swallow the Evadiol Tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet, as this may affect its effectiveness or increase the risk of side effects.

Side Effects

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Common Headache Stomach pain Vaginal bleeding Discharge or discomfort. Serious: Ovarian cancer Blood clots Heart attack Breast lumps Stroke

Expert Tips

It is recommended to examine your breast (mammogram) to avoid the risk of breast cancer caused by the drug and inform your doctor if you have any changes in skin colour. Don't apply it on your breast, eye, or other part of the body apart from the application site. Inform your doctor if you have uterus cancer or a history of blood clots. Regularly monitoring liver function tests, thyroid tests, bone mineral density, and blood pressure is advised as treatment with Evadiol Tablet can alter these values.
