Product Introduction
Exelon Patch 10 (9.5mg) Patch is a cholinesterase inhibitor containing Rivastigmine as the active ingredient. It is used to treat mild to moderately severe Alzheimer's dementia in adults. Alzheimer's is a progressive brain disorder that affects memory, intellect, and behaviour. In this condition, specific nerve cells in the brain die, leading to reduced levels of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which is essential for nerve cell communication. This medicine works by blocking the enzymes that break down acetylcholine, thereby helping to reduce Alzheimer's symptoms. It is also used to treat dementia in adult patients with Parkinson's disease.
Do not use Exelon Patch 10 (9.5mg) Patch if you are allergic to Rivastigmine or any other ingredients in this patch. Do not use this patch if you experience a skin reaction that spreads beyond the patch area or an intense local reaction such as blisters, increased skin inflammation, or swelling that does not improve within 48 hours after removing the patch. Inform your doctor promptly if such reactions occur.
This patch is not suitable for children with Alzheimer's disease.
Before using Exelon Patch 10 (9.5mg) Patch, inform your doctor if you have a history of irregular or slow heartbeat, active stomach ulcers, difficulties in passing urine, seizures, asthma, severe respiratory disease, trembling, low body weight, gastrointestinal reactions such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea, or impaired liver function. Your doctor will assess your medical condition and determine if this patch is suitable for you. It is essential to inform your healthcare provider about any pre-existing health conditions to ensure safe and effective use of the medication.
If you miss the patch for three days, consult your doctor before taking the next dose.
