Product Introduction
Exetraz 25mg Tablet is an anti-cancer medicine containing Exemestane, which belongs to the class of aromatase inhibitors. This medication is commonly prescribed for postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, especially after completing 2-3 years of Tamoxifen therapy. It is also effective in treating advanced hormone-dependent breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. Breast cancer occurs when cells in the breast grow uncontrollably. By lowering estrogen levels in the body, Exetraz 25mg helps slow down or stop the growth of cancer cells that depend on estrogen for survival. This medicine is not recommended for premenopausal women, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or children below 18 years of age. Patients with concerns regarding liver function, kidney function, or bone health should discuss these with their doctor before starting this treatment.
Uses
Exetraz 25mg Tablet uses include: Treatment of early-stage hormone-dependent breast cancer in postmenopausal women Management of advanced or metastatic breast cancer in patients whose disease continues to progress after Tamoxifen therapy.
How it works
The active ingredient in Exetraz 25mg Tablet, Exemestane, works by inhibiting an enzyme called aromatase, which is responsible for converting androgens (male hormones) into estrogen (female hormones). By blocking this enzyme, the medication significantly reduces estrogen levels in the body. Since certain types of breast cancer cells rely on estrogen to grow and spread, lowering estrogen levels helps to slow down or stop the progression of hormone-sensitive breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
How to Use
Take one tablet once daily, preferably after food. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or break it into pieces. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and treatment duration based on your medical condition and treatment response. If you miss a dose, skip it and continue with your next scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose.
