Product Introduction
Eziem D Tablet is a combination medication containing Esomeprazole and Domperidone, classified as a proton pump inhibitor and dopamine antagonist. It is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (a condition in which stomach acid and contents reflux into the oesophagus), peptic ulcers (erosions or sores on the stomach lining), and nausea and vomiting.
This tablet is contraindicated in patients with a history of cardiac arrhythmias including ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, or QT prolongation, and in those receiving medications that prolong the QT interval.
Side effects may include dizziness, drowsiness, or vision changes in some patients. During such effects, patients should refrain from activities requiring alertness, including driving, cycling, or operating machinery, until symptom resolution.
Prolonged use of this medicine may lead to low magnesium levels (hypomagnesemia) in the body. Symptoms of hypomagnesemia include fatigue, muscle spasms or weakness, irregular heartbeat, and seizures. Patients experiencing any of these symptoms should inform their doctor immediately.
Use of Eziem D Tablet should be discussed with a physician if the patient is pregnant, suspects pregnancy, or is breastfeeding.
Uses
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) Peptic Ulcer Treats Nausea and Vomiting
How it works
Esomeprazole works by irreversibly binding to the proton pump and inhibiting its function. By doing so, it blocks the final step of acid production. Specifically, this drug inhibits the enzyme's ability to transport hydrogen ions (protons) into the stomach, thereby reducing gastric acid secretion. Domperidone enhances the movement and contractions of the stomach and intestines. It helps to improve gastrointestinal motility and facilitates the food to pass through the digestive part.
How to Use
Take the Eziem D Tablet as your physician advises. Usually, the tablets will be taken with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or open the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the tablet if your doctor advises you to stop.
Side Effects
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Common Headache Stomach pain, accumulation of gas Nausea, vomiting Constipation Diarrhea Benign polyps in the stomach (masses of cells form in the stomach lining)
