Product Introduction
Falcigo 60mg Injection contains artesunate as its active component. It is indicated primarily for treatment of malaria, particularly severe cases caused by Plasmodium falciparum, a parasite capable of causing life-threatening complications. It may be used as part of artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) for uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria. It may also be used for malaria prevention in areas where the disease is endemic and drug resistance is not established. Some studies have indicated potential benefit as adjunctive therapy in certain cancer types. This medication may modulate immune response and reduce inflammation in conditions including rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease. Patients with hypersensitivity or allergy to Falcigo 60mg Injection or artemisinin derivatives should avoid this medication. It is contraindicated in individuals with known G6PD deficiency. Use with caution and only under healthcare professional supervision in patients with certain medical conditions, such as liver disease or history of epilepsy. A healthcare provider should be consulted before administering this medication in paediatric patients. Older adults frequently take multiple medications, which increases the risk of drug interactions. Before using Falcigo 60mg Injection in elderly patients, always consult a healthcare provider.

How it works
Falcigo 60mg Injection, an antimalarial medication, disrupts the malaria parasite's metabolism within red blood cells. It increases the levels of toxic-free heme, which damages the parasite's cellular components. This disruption leads to oxidative stress and cellular damage, ultimately causing the death of the malaria parasite.
How to Use
Falcigo 60mg Injection can be administered intravenous (IV) for rapid action in severe cases, and intramuscular (IM) as an alternative injection method. The choice depends on the patient's condition and instructions by the health care provider.
