Flozimax 5mg Tablet

Flozimax 5mg Tablet is an antidiabetic drug in the category of sodium-glucose cotransport-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitors, containing the active ingredient Dapagliflozin. It is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients aged 18 years and above. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease characterised by elevated blood glucose levels (hyperglycaemia). This drug is also approved for the treatment of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) in adults, where it helps improve symptoms and reduce the risk of hospitalisation for heart failure. The primary mechanism is control of elevated blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. Use should always be combined with dietary modification and exercise. Your doctor may prescribe this medicine alongside other antidiabetic medications if your blood glucose remains elevated and inadequately controlled. Do not take this medicine if you have a known allergy to Dapagliflozin or any other ingredient in Flozimax 5mg Tablet. Inform your doctor if you develop urinary tract infections, as this medicine may increase the risk of UTI. This medicine is not recommended for patients under 18 years of age. Your doctor will assess kidney function at baseline and at least annually, or more frequently if clinically indicated, during treatment with this medicine. If you experience nausea, vomiting, fever, or are unable to eat or drink while taking Flozimax 5mg Tablet, you should inform your doctor promptly. These conditions may lead to dehydration, and your doctor may recommend temporary discontinuation of the medication until recovery occurs. Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) can develop during treatment with this drug, even when blood glucose levels remain within normal range. If you suspect symptoms of DKA, contact your doctor or attend the nearest hospital immediately.

Take the Flozimax 5mg Tablet as advised by your physician. Do not chew or break the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the tablet if your doctor advises you to stop.

Flozimax 5mg Tablet can increase urination, possibly leading to dehydration if not compensated for by adequate fluid intake. Drink plenty of water often to stay well hydrated. This drug causes genital yeast infections in both males and females. Practice good hygiene, including regular washing and cleaning of the genital area, to reduce the risk of infections. Limit the intake of sugary foods, processed snacks, and high-fat meals.
