Product Introduction

Flucyto Tablet is an antifungal medication containing flucytosine as the active ingredient. It is used to treat serious fungal infections caused by specific fungi types. This medication plays an important role in managing infections caused by Cryptococcus and Candida species, which can be particularly problematic in patients with weakened immune systems. It is often used in combination with other antifungal drugs to enhance treatment effectiveness.

Do not use this medication if you have known hypersensitivity or allergy to flucytosine or any component of this tablet. Do not take this drug if you have complete dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase (DPD) enzyme deficiency.

Inform your doctor if you are currently taking or have taken antiviral nucleoside analogs for herpes treatment within the last 4 weeks before starting Flucyto Tablet. Inform your doctor if you have impaired kidney function, as this is important for determining the appropriate dosage and monitoring your response to medication.

Do not miss any laboratory tests recommended by your doctor. These tests are essential to monitor your health, treatment response, and any serious side effects.

Male patients whose female partners are of reproductive age must use an effective method of contraception for up to 3 months after completing treatment. Female patients of childbearing age should use a reliable method of contraception for 1 month after the last dose to prevent unintended pregnancy during this period.

Flucyto Tablet should not be used during pregnancy unless medically necessary. If you suspect you are pregnant while undergoing treatment with this medication, inform your doctor immediately. Breastfeeding is not recommended while taking this medicine. Consult your doctor for advice if you are breastfeeding.

Uses

Treatment of fungal infections

How it works

Flucyto Tablet works by interfering with the synthesis of fungal DNA and RNA. This disrupts the growth and replication of fungal cells, helping to control and eliminate the infection.

How to Use

Take the Flucyto Tablet as advised by your physician. Do not crush, chew, or open the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the tablet if your doctor advises you to stop.
