Foliculin HP 75IU Injection

Foliculin HP 75IU Injection contains the active substance Urofollitropin. It is an ovulation stimulator that belongs to the group of medications called gonadotropins. It is used to treat infertility in women who are not ovulating, including those with polycystic ovarian disease, and who have not responded to treatment with another medicine called clomiphene citrate. It is also used to promote multiple follicle development and fertility in women undergoing IVF (in-vitro fertilization) or other assisted conception procedures. It is also indicated for treating infertility in men due to low sperm count.

Do not use Foliculin HP 75IU Injection if you are allergic to it or any other ingredients in this medicine. Do not use this medicine if you have a tumour in the pituitary gland (a gland located at the base of the brain which produces certain hormones, including growth hormone) or in the hypothalamus (an area located beneath the thalamus which controls bodily conditions including body temperature and blood pressure) or in the uterus, ovaries, breast, testicles, or prostate gland.

Before starting treatment, you will be evaluated for underactive thyroid problems, hormone levels, and tumours of the pituitary and hypothalamus. Do not use this medicine if you have ovarian cysts that are not due to PCOD, vaginal bleeding, early menopause, physical problems in the reproductive organs, if your womb has been removed, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any of these symptoms: abdominal pain and swelling, weight gain, diarrhoea, difficulty in breathing, and decreased urination. Inform your doctor if you have liver problems or a history of blood clotting disease before starting treatment with Foliculin HP 75IU Injection.

Infertility in women

In the absence of sufficient endogenous luteinizing hormone (LH), Foliculin HP 75IU Injection bind to the follicle stimulating hormone receptor (FSH), resulting in ovulation. It also attaches to the LH receptor, causing appropriate hormone release and treats infertility in women.

Foliculin HP 75IU Injection will be given to you by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic setting. It is given as an intramuscular injection (into your muscles) or under the skin. Do not self-administer the injection. Your doctor will decide the dose, route of administration and duration of the treatment based on your disease severity, body weight, and other factors.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. If you have missed any dosing appointments, inform your doctor and schedule immediately. Foliculin HP 75IU Injection can increase your risk of ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside of the womb) if you have a history of fallopian tube disease, miscarriage, multiple pregnancies (twins and triplets), and birth defects in the baby. Your doctor will regularly perform ultrasound scans and blood tests to monitor your response to the treatment.
