Product Introduction

Folisurge 75IU Injection contains follitropin alfa as the active ingredient. It is used in assisted reproductive technologies (ART) to treat infertility in men and women. Follitropin alfa is a synthetic form of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) that stimulates the development of eggs in women and sperm in men. Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after one year of regular unprotected intercourse.

The medication stimulates the development of multiple follicles in women and enhances sperm production in men, enabling precise timing for optimal ovulation. It has demonstrated efficacy with a generally safe profile and can increase pregnancy rates while shortening treatment duration.

Folisurge 75IU Injection is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to follitropin alfa or any component of the formulation. Although rare, allergic reactions may occur and require immediate medical attention.

Patients with ovarian cysts or tumours should not use Folisurge 75IU Injection, as the medication may worsen these conditions. It should not be used in patients with uncontrolled hypothyroidism or adrenal dysfunction. Uncontrolled hypothyroidism is a state in which thyroid hormone levels remain inadequately regulated, causing persistent symptoms and potential complications.

Individuals with abnormalities or blockages in the reproductive tract that impede egg or sperm transport may not benefit from this medication. It is not generally recommended for paediatric or elderly populations.

Uses

How it works

Folisurge 75IU injection, a recombinant follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), exerts its mechanism of action by binding to the FSH receptors on the ovarian granulosa cells in females or Sertoli cells in males. This binding stimulates the growth and development of ovarian follicles in women, leading to the maturation of eggs, and in men, it promotes the production and maturation of sperm. By mimicking the natural FSH, this medication helps regulate reproductive processes, making it valuable in infertility treatments and other related conditions.

How to Use

Folisurge 75IU injection is administered through subcutaneous injection. Patients are typically provided with clear instructions and guidance on how to administer the injections safely and effectively during their treatment period.
