Product Introduction
Fosfona Powder is a phosphonic antibiotic containing fosfomycin. It is used to treat bacterial infections, particularly uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women caused by susceptible bacteria. It is effective against a wide range of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. This drug is also used to prevent possible infections before prostate surgical procedures in adult men. Administering the medication before surgery can help reduce the risk of post-operative infections.
If you have a history of diarrhoea after taking antibiotics, inform your physician before initiating treatment. Certain antibiotics, including this drug, can sometimes cause gastrointestinal side effects like diarrhoea, and this information helps your doctor assess any potential risks or alternatives.
Fosfona Powder is generally not recommended for use in children under 12 years old. The safety and efficacy of this drug in younger children have not been well-established, and therefore, it is usually avoided in this age group.
Some formulations of this drug contain sucrose. If you have a known intolerance to certain sugars, such as lactose or sucrose, inform your doctor. They can check the medication's ingredients to ensure it is safe for you to use.
Contact your physician immediately if you develop any unexpected side effects or adverse reactions while taking this drug. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning for pregnancy, consult your physician before taking Fosfona Powder. Physicians may prescribe this medicine only when it is needed.

How it works

Serious Serious allergic reactions (sudden onset of itching, rash or hives on the skin, shortness of breath and wheezing) Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat Moderate to severe abdominal cramps Bloody stools Fever Common Headache Dizziness Diarrhea Nausea Indigestion Abdominal pain Infection of the female genital organs
Expert Tips
Take Fosfona Powder exactly as your physician prescribes and complete the full course of treatment, even if you start feeling better before the medication is finished.
