Gemfrac 600mcg injection contains teriparatide, an active component belonging to the parathyroid hormone (PTH) class of drugs. It is indicated for the treatment of osteoporosis in adults, a condition characterised by weakened bones that increases fracture risk. The medication strengthens bone and promotes new bone tissue formation in patients. It is used in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis, to increase bone mass in primary or hypogonadal osteoporosis in men, and to treat both men and women with osteoporosis associated with prolonged systemic glucocorticoid therapy. Inform your doctor if you have an allergy to teriparatide or any of its ingredients. Inform your doctor if you have a serious kidney disorder, bone cancer, bone disorder, or have recently undergone radiation therapy to your bones. Inform your doctor of all prescribed and non-prescribed medicines you take. Inform your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Safety and effectiveness have not been established in paediatric patients.

How it works

Gemfrac 600mcg injection exerts a therapeutic effect by stimulating the formation of new bone tissue and increasing bone mineral density. By activating osteoblasts, the cells responsible for bone formation, bone strength is enhanced, fracture risk is reduced, and bone healing is promoted. It offers significant benefits such as increased bone density, fracture risk reduction, and improved quality of life, and serves as an alternative for individuals who have yet to respond well to other osteoporosis treatments.

How to Use

It will be given to you by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinical setting. It is given as a subcutaneous injection (into the skin). Do not self-administer the injection. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the treatment based on your disease severity, body weight, and other factors.
