Product Introduction

Geroz XT Tablet contains Folic acid and Heme iron polypeptide as active components. It is used to treat and prevent iron deficiency anemia, a condition where the body lacks sufficient iron to produce adequate red blood cells. The medication helps relieve symptoms including fatigue, weakness, pale skin, and shortness of breath. It also maintains adequate folic acid levels, preventing megaloblastic anemia.

Geroz XT Tablet should not be used by individuals with known allergy to any of its ingredients. It is contraindicated in patients with iron overload or haemochromatosis, a condition characterised by excessive iron storage in the body, as it can worsen the condition and lead to serious complications. It may not be suitable for patients with certain medical conditions such as peptic ulcers, ulcerative colitis, or Crohn's disease.

Patients with kidney problems should consult their healthcare provider before taking this medication, as it can increase the risk of iron overload. Geroz XT Tablet is not recommended for children under 6 years of age due to the potential risk of iron poisoning. Older adults may be more likely to experience iron overload, a condition in which the body accumulates excessive iron. This can be harmful, so patients must discuss use of Geroz XT Tablet with their doctor before commencing treatment.

Uses

Treatment of iron deficiency anemia

How it works

Geroz XT Tablet contains heme iron polypeptide, a form of iron that is readily absorbed by the body. Heme iron is transported into the intestinal cells by a protein called heme carrier protein 1 (HCP1). Once inside the intestinal cells, the iron is stripped from the heme ring and transported to the liver, where it is incorporated into hemoglobin, the protein that carries oxygen in red blood cells. Folic acid, another component of this medication, is essential for producing new red blood cells.

How to Use

Geroz XT Tablet is primarily administered orally. The healthcare provider will determine the dosage and duration of treatment based on the specific infection and individual factors.

Side Effects

Geroz XT Tablet causes some side effects like all medications, although not everyone will experience them. Serious: Iron overload Allergic reactions Interactions with certain medications Common: Gastrointestinal upset Dark-colored stools Tooth discoloration
