Gynogen HP 150IU Injection

Gynogen HP 150IU Injection contains menotrophin, an ovulation stimulator belonging to the gonadotropin class of medications. It is a highly purified mixture of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinising hormone (LH), natural hormones produced in both males and females that support normal reproductive organ function.

Gynogen HP 150IU Injection is indicated for treatment of infertility in women who are not ovulating, including those with polycystic ovarian disease, who have not responded to clomiphene citrate. It is also used to stimulate multiple follicles and promote fertility in women undergoing IVF (in-vitro fertilisation) or other assisted conception procedures. The injection is additionally indicated for treatment of male infertility due to low sperm count.

Do not use Gynogen HP 150IU Injection if you are allergic to menotrophin or any other ingredient in this medicine. Do not use this medicine if you have a tumour in the pituitary gland (located at the base of the brain and producing certain hormones including growth hormones), hypothalamus (located beneath the thalamus and controlling body conditions including temperature and blood pressure), uterus, ovaries, breast, testicles, or prostate gland.

Before starting treatment, you will be assessed for underactive thyroid problems, hormone levels, and tumours of the pituitary and hypothalamus. Do not use this medicine if you have ovarian cysts unrelated to PCOD, vaginal bleeding, early menopause, physical problems in reproductive organs, history of womb removal, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Inform your physician immediately if you experience abdominal pain and swelling, weight gain, diarrhoea, difficulty in breathing, or decreased urination. Inform your physician if you have or have had liver problems or a history of blood clotting disease before beginning treatment.

Gynogen HP 150IU Injection is used in the treatment of the following: Infertility in men and women

In the absence of sufficient endogenous luteinising hormone (LH), menotrophin binds to the follicle-stimulating hormone receptor (FSH), resulting in ovulation. It also attaches to the LH receptor, causing appropriate hormone release and treating infertility in women and men.

It will be given to you by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic setting. It is given as an intramuscular injection (into your muscles) or under the skin. Do not self-administer the injection. Your doctor will decide the dose, route of administration and duration of the treatment based on your disease severity, body weight, and other factors.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. If you have missed any dosing appointments, inform your doctor and schedule immediately. This medicine can increase your risk of ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside of the womb) if you have a history of fallopian tube disease, miscarriage, multiple pregnancies (twins and triplets), and birth defects in the baby. Your doctor will regularly perform ultrasound scans and blood tests to monitor your response to the treatment.
