Product Introduction

Igufighter 25mg Tablet contains iguratimod as its active component. It is indicated for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases including ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), and Behçet's disease. It is an oral disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) that reduces inflammation and manages symptoms associated with these conditions. Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic inflammatory arthritis that primarily affects the spine and pelvis. Psoriatic arthritis is an inflammatory arthritis affecting joints, skin, and nails, often occurring in patients with psoriasis. Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease that can affect various body systems, leading to inflammation, pain, and damage to organs and tissues. Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) is arthritis beginning in childhood, causing joint inflammation and potentially affecting a child's overall health and growth. Behçet's Disease is a rare autoimmune disorder characterised by inflammation affecting various body systems, with symptoms including mouth and genital ulcers, skin lesions, and eye inflammation. Become familiar with signs and symptoms of hypersensitivity reactions, including skin rash, hives, itching, swelling (particularly of the face, lips, or throat), difficulty breathing, and chest tightness. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately. Inform your healthcare provider of known allergies, particularly if you have experienced previous hypersensitivity reactions to medications. Igufighter 25mg Tablet is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic, renal, or significant haematological abnormalities. Avoiding this medication in these cases is important to prevent potential adverse reactions or complications. For children, this medication should be used under the guidance of a paediatric rheumatologist, with careful consideration of dosage, growth monitoring, and open communication with caregivers. Consulting a geriatric specialist is essential for older adults to assess potential interactions, adjust dosages, and ensure regular follow-up while emphasising fall prevention, hydration, and nutrition to support safe and effective treatment.

How it works

Iguratimod's mechanism of action involves suppressing the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1, IL-6, and TNF-α, which contribute to autoimmune responses and inflammation. It may also modulate T cell activity, downregulate inflammatory mediators like COX-2 and MMPs, and influence immune cell activation, collectively reducing inflammation and mitigating damage caused by autoimmune diseases. Additionally, Its potential antioxidant properties could further contribute to its anti-inflammatory effects.
