Product Introduction

Imeg CKD 500mg tablet is an antidiabetic medication belonging to the sodium-glucose cotransport-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor class, containing the active ingredient Imeglimin. It is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients aged 18 years and above. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterised by elevated blood glucose levels (hyperglycaemia). This medication functions to regulate high blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It should always be used alongside dietary modification and physical exercise. Your doctor may prescribe this medicine in combination with other antidiabetic agents if your blood sugar remains elevated and inadequately controlled. Do not take this medicine if you have an allergy to Imeglimin or any other component of the formulation. Inform your doctor if you develop urinary tract infections, as this medicine may increase the risk of UTI. This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Your doctor will monitor kidney function at least annually, or more frequently, during your course of treatment with this medicine. Should you experience nausea, vomiting, fever, or inability to eat or drink while taking Imeg CKD 500mg tablet, it is essential to notify your doctor. These conditions may result in dehydration, and your doctor may recommend temporary discontinuation of the medication until recovery. Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) can occur while taking this drug, even when blood glucose levels are normal. If you suspect symptoms of DKA, contact your doctor or attend the nearest hospital immediately without delay.
