Product Introduction

Iminoral Oral Solution contains cyclosporine, an immunosuppressant medication. It is used to prevent organ rejection in patients with kidney, liver, or heart transplants. It works alongside other medicines to suppress the body's immune response to the transplanted organ's antigens, which would otherwise trigger rejection.

Following solid organ transplantation, the body mounts an aggressive immune response as it recognises the donor organ's antigens as foreign. Immunosuppressive therapy is therefore necessary to prevent organ rejection.

Immunosuppressants increase the risk of skin cancer. Limit sun exposure, wear protective clothing, and use sunscreen with high SPF.

Iminoral Oral Solution should not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to cyclosporine or any components of the formulation.

This medication can elevate blood pressure levels and should be used cautiously or avoided in individuals with uncontrolled hypertension or a history of high blood pressure.

Inform your physician if you have recently received a live vaccine.

Discuss potential reproductive effects with your healthcare professional, particularly if you are planning to conceive.

Blood glucose monitoring is important, especially for individuals at risk of diabetes.

Uses

Prevention of organ rejection (Kidney, liver, and heart) Treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis and Psoriasis

How it works

By suppressing the immune system, Iminoral Oral Solution helps prevent organ rejection in transplant recipients. After organ transplantation, the immune system recognizes the transplanted organ as foreign and launches an immune response to attack and reject it. Iminoral Oral Solution inhibits the activation of T-cells, a type of white blood cell involved in immune responses. This suppression of T-cell activity helps to prevent the immune system from attacking and damaging the transplanted organ, thereby increasing the chances of successful organ transplantation.

Expert Tips

When using Iminoral Oral Solution, it is important to take several precautions. These include monitoring infections, kidney and liver function, blood pressure, and neurological symptoms closely.
