Product Introduction

Jollimex 150mg Capsule is an antiarrhythmic medication containing mexiletine. It is used to treat irregular heart rhythms, known as arrhythmias. The medication also manages symptoms of myotonia in adults with non-dystrophic myotonic disorders—conditions arising from genetic defects affecting muscle function. These disorders are characterised primarily by muscle-related symptoms rather than by a specific type of muscular dystrophy. Myotonia refers to difficulty in muscle relaxation after use, leading to stiffness or delayed muscle relaxation.

This drug is contraindicated if you have experienced a heart attack (myocardial infarction). Before starting Jollimex 150mg Capsule, inform your doctor of any heart, liver, or kidney problems; low or high potassium blood levels; low magnesium blood levels; or epilepsy. The drug affects the nervous system and requires cautious use in patients with seizure disorders. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to local anaesthetics, a class of medications that numb specific body areas. Use in children and adults under 18 years of age is not advised.

While taking this medication, reducing caffeine intake by half is recommended, as Jollimex 150mg Capsule can elevate caffeine blood levels. High caffeine levels may cause jitteriness, increased heart rate, and other adverse effects. Reducing caffeine intake helps prevent these interactions. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, suspect pregnancy, or plan to become pregnant. This drug passes into breast milk, therefore breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment.
