Product Introduction

Jolltrin 250mg capsule contains the active constituent Trientine Hydrochloride. It is a copper chelator used to treat adult patients with stable Wilson's disease who cannot tolerate other medicines used to treat this disease. Wilson's disease is an inherited condition in which the body cannot transport copper normally or remove copper normally as a secretion from the liver into the gut. This means that small amounts of copper from food and drink accumulate to excessive levels and can lead to liver damage and nervous system problems. This medicine works mainly by binding to copper in the body, allowing it to be removed in the urine instead, helping to lower copper levels. It may also bind to copper in the gut and reduce the amount absorbed into the body. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Jolltrin 250mg capsule or any other ingredients in this medicine. Jolltrin 250mg capsule may reduce the iron level in your blood; you may be prescribed iron supplements. Inform your physician if you have kidney or liver problems, breathing problems, dermatitis (red and itchy skin), or anaemia, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
