Product Introduction
Kcheck sachet 15gm is a potassium binder containing calcium polysterene sulphonate as its active ingredient. It is indicated for the treatment of hyperkalemia, a condition characterised by excessive potassium in the blood, when associated with anuria or severe oliguria. It may also be used to reduce potassium levels in patients undergoing regular dialysis for kidney failure management.
Oral administration of Kcheck sachet 15gm is contraindicated in neonates, as their gastrointestinal system is immature with reduced gut motility, which increases the risk of gastrointestinal complications including intestinal obstruction and perforation.
Magnesium-containing laxatives should not be used concurrently with this sachet. Caution is advised if you have allergy to this sachet or any of its ingredients. The sachet should be avoided in patients with intestinal obstruction, thyroid disorders, or elevated blood calcium levels.
Excessive use of this sachet may result in potassium levels falling below the normal range, leading to symptoms such as muscle weakness, irritability, and confusion. Kcheck sachet 15gm should be used with caution and only under the supervision of a healthcare professional, as it may exacerbate these conditions or interact with other medications used in their management.
Uses
Hyperkalemia
How it works
When Kcheck sachet 15gms is ingested, it passes through the stomach and enters the small intestine, where it starts to exchange sodium ions for potassium ions. It effectively removes excess potassium from the body. The exchange process occurs primarily in the colon, where the concentration of potassium is highest. By removing excess potassium from the body, It helps to prevent the complications associated with hyperkalemia.
