Conditions: Heart Disorder

Product Introduction

Kerendia 10mg Tablet contains finerenone, a nonsteroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (MRA). It works by addressing conditions linked to imbalanced mineralocorticoid hormone levels, particularly aldosterone, in the body. The primary indication is chronic kidney disease (CKD) in patients with type 2 diabetes. It reduces the risk of CKD progression and lowers the risk of cardiovascular events, including heart failure, in these patients.

Kerendia 10mg Tablet is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to finerenone or any component of the formulation. The medication can elevate blood potassium levels and should be used with caution or avoided in patients with hyperkalemia or those taking potassium-elevating medications such as potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements.

This medication affects electrolyte balance in the body. Monitoring of potassium, sodium, and other electrolyte levels may be necessary during treatment. Kerendia 10mg Tablet may alter blood glucose levels, particularly in patients with diabetes. If patients require surgery, it is important to inform the healthcare team about Kerendia 10mg Tablet use, as temporary discontinuation may be necessary before the procedure.

Uses

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) with type 2 diabetes

How it works

Kerendia 10mg is a selective nonsteroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (MRA) that blocks the effects of aldosterone, a hormone involved in fluid balance and blood pressure regulation. Inhibiting mineralocorticoid receptors reduces sodium and water retention, prevents potassium excretion, and provides therapeutic benefits in chronic kidney disease, including slowing disease progression, reducing cardiovascular risk, and controlling blood pressure.
