Product Introduction

Kerendia 20mg Tablet contains Finerenone, a nonsteroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (MRA) used to manage chronic kidney disease (CKD) associated with type 2 diabetes. It works by blocking the harmful effects of the hormone aldosterone, helping protect the kidneys and reducing inflammation and fibrosis that can lead to kidney damage. In addition to supporting kidney health, Kerendia 20mg helps lower the risk of cardiovascular complications, including heart failure and other heart-related events, in eligible patients.

Although Kerendia Tablet belongs to the same therapeutic class as medications such as spironolactone and eplerenone, it is specifically approved for reducing the progression of CKD in adults with type 2 diabetes. By slowing kidney function decline and decreasing cardiovascular risk, it plays an important role in the long-term management of diabetic kidney disease.

Do not take Kerendia 20mg Tablet if you are allergic to Finerenone or any of the tablet's ingredients. This medication may increase potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia), so it should be used with caution in patients who already have high potassium levels or who are taking potassium supplements, potassium-sparing diuretics, or other medicines that can raise potassium. Your doctor may recommend regular blood tests to monitor potassium, sodium, kidney function, and other electrolyte levels during treatment.

Patients with diabetes should also monitor their blood glucose levels, as Kerendia 20mg may influence blood sugar control in some individuals. Before starting treatment, inform your healthcare provider about your complete medical history, including kidney or liver disorders and all medications you are currently taking. If you are scheduled for surgery or a medical procedure, let your healthcare team know that you are using Kerendia Tablet, as temporary discontinuation may be required.

How it works

Kerendia 20mg Tablet is a selective nonsteroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (MRA) that blocks the effects of aldosterone, a hormone involved in fluid balance and blood pressure regulation. Inhibiting mineralocorticoid receptors reduces sodium and water retention, prevents potassium excretion, and provides therapeutic benefits in chronic kidney disease, including slowing disease progression, reducing cardiovascular risk, and controlling blood pressure.
