Product Introduction

Koate Dvi 1000IU Injection contains anti-haemophilic factor, also known as factor VIII. It is a medication used to treat haemophilia A, a genetic bleeding disorder caused by deficiency of a blood clotting factor. It can be used to treat acute bleeding episodes in patients with haemophilia A, including episodes of spontaneous bleeding and bleeding resulting from injuries or surgeries. Patients with haemophilia A may require surgery for various reasons, such as joint surgeries, dental procedures, or other medical interventions. It may be used before and after surgery to prevent excessive bleeding during and after the procedure. Individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to Koate Dvi 1000IU Injection or any of its components should not use this medication. Allergic reactions to it can be severe and life-threatening. It should not be used to treat haemophilia B, which is caused by deficiency of factor IX. There may be concerns about using it in individuals with severe kidney dysfunction or renal failure, as it can affect the clearance of the medication from the body. Dosing adjustments may be necessary in these cases. Individuals with pre-existing cardiovascular diseases, such as a history of heart attacks or thromboembolic events, may require careful monitoring and adjusted dosing when using anti-haemophilic factors (human). It can be safe and effective for children and older adults with haemophilia A. Always follow the healthcare provider's recommendations for these groups.

Uses

How it works

Koate Dvi 1000IU Injection acts as a co-factor for factor IX in the formation of tenase complex, which is essential for the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin. Thrombin, in turn, facilitates the conversion of fibrinogen into fibrin, leading to the formation of stable blood clots. This medication corrects the clotting cascade, allowing individuals with hemophilia A to form normal blood clots and effectively manage bleeding episodes or prevent them when used prophylactically.

How to Use

Koate Dvi 1000IU Injection is typically administered intravenously (IV) through either peripheral venous access for home use or central venous access devices for those with frequent bleeding episodes or difficult peripheral venous access.
