Kylonib 150mg Capsule

Kylonib 150mg capsule is an antineoplastic agent containing the active ingredient Nilotinib. It is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor used to treat Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukaemia (Ph-positive CML), a blood cancer characterised by abnormal white blood cell production. In adult and paediatric patients, it is indicated for newly diagnosed chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) and for patients experiencing adverse effects from prior treatment. It is also used in patients who no longer respond to previous treatment, including Imatinib.

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Nilotinib or other ingredients in this formulation. Inform your doctor of any history of cardiac conditions (myocardial infarction, abnormal cardiac electrical activity), chest pain, cerebral stroke, or claudication (impaired blood flow to the legs). Notify your doctor if you have or have had liver or pancreatic disorder, or deficiency of potassium or magnesium. Disclose all medications you are taking, particularly those used to lower blood cholesterol. Inform your doctor of any prior or current hepatitis B infection; this medicine may reactivate hepatitis B, which can be fatal in some cases. Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice. Notify your doctor if you have lactose intolerance, as this medicine contains lactose. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.

During treatment, your doctor may perform regular blood tests to monitor liver and pancreatic function and blood cell counts (WBC, RBC, platelets). Monitoring will also include cardiac assessment (QT interval prolongation), electrolyte levels, and glucose and lipid levels to assess tolerance to Kylonib 150mg. Use effective contraception during treatment with this medicine.

BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase is responsible for the uncontrolled division of cells in the CML. Kylonib 150mg disrupts the signaling route of the protein kinase enzyme which targets the BCR-ABL protein and inhibits the growth and spread of cancer cells.

Take Kylonib 150mg as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or open the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you based on your age, body weight, and disease condition. Do not stop taking Kylonib 150mg unless your doctor advises you to stop.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Based on your condition your doctor may prescribe a lower dose. Kylonib 150mg can be used by people aged 65 years and over with the same dose as other adults. Tell your doctor if you experience any irregular heartbeats or any signs of a heart condition because this can lead to serious complications like sudden death. Inform your physician if you have kidney problems. Your physician will decide whether you may receive this medication after monitoring your kidney functions. Some children and adolescents taking this medicine may have slower than normal growth. So, your doctor will regularly monitor your growth. Report to your doctor if you have had a history of heart failure or hepatitis infection. Discuss effective contraceptive options with your healthcare provider.
