Product Introduction

Lacosam 50mg Tablet contains lacosamide as its active component. It is an anticonvulsant medication used to treat partial-onset seizures (seizures affecting only one part of the brain) in adults and children 1 month of age and older. It is also used in combination with other medications to control primary generalised tonic-clonic seizures (formerly known as grand mal seizures, which affect the entire body) in adults and children 4 years and older. Lacosam 50mg Tablet is frequently prescribed as add-on therapy, combined with other antiepileptic medications, when current drugs do not adequately control seizures. This makes it a valuable treatment option for patients whose seizures remain uncontrolled with their existing medications alone.

Lacosam 50mg Tablet should not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to lacosamide or its components. Allergic reactions can be severe, presenting with symptoms such as rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, and difficulty breathing. It is generally well-tolerated by many patients, though side effects remain possible and are not universal. Common side effects, including dizziness and nausea, are typically mild and may diminish over time.

Lacosam 50mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with a history of cardiac rhythm disturbances. It can cause dizziness, drowsiness, and blurred vision. While this medication may benefit many individuals, a potential risk of addiction exists. This risk may be heightened in patients with a history of substance use disorder involving excessive or dependent use of drugs or alcohol. To prevent complications, strict adherence to the prescribed dosage is essential, and the dose should not be increased, taken more frequently, or used for longer than recommended by your healthcare provider.
