Product Introduction

Lacotide 100mg Tablet contains lacosamide as its active component. It is an anticonvulsant medication used to treat partial-onset seizures (seizures affecting only one part of the brain) in adults and children 1 month of age and older. It is also used in combination with other medications to control primary generalised tonic-clonic seizures (formerly known as grand mal seizure, affecting the entire body) in adults and children 4 years and older. Lacotide 100mg Tablet is frequently prescribed as add-on therapy, combined with other antiepileptic medications, when current drugs are insufficient to control seizures. This makes it a valuable treatment option for patients who lack adequate seizure control with their current medications alone.

Lacotide 100mg Tablet should not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to the drug or its components. Allergic reactions can be severe, presenting with symptoms such as rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, and difficulty breathing. It is generally well-tolerated by many patients, though side effects, while possible, are not experienced universally. Common side effects including dizziness and nausea are usually mild and may diminish over time.

Lacotide 100mg Tablet should be used cautiously in patients with a history of cardiac rhythm problems. It can cause dizziness, drowsiness, and blurred vision. While this medication can benefit many individuals, it may carry potential risk of addiction. This risk may be heightened in those with a history of substance use disorder involving excessive use or dependency on drugs or alcohol. To avoid complications, it is essential to adhere to the prescribed dosage and refrain from increasing the dose, taking it more frequently, or extending the duration of use beyond what your healthcare provider recommends.
