Larglustat 84mg Capsule contains Eliglustat, an oral substrate-reduction therapy (SRT) indicated for long-term treatment of Gaucher disease type 1. Gaucher disease is a rare, inherited metabolic disorder arising from deficiency of the enzyme β-glucocerebrosidase. This enzyme deficiency permits accumulation of glucosylceramide, a fatty substance, in the liver, spleen, and bone marrow, causing anaemia, hepatosplenomegaly, bone pain, and fatigue. Eliglustat functions by reducing glucosylceramide production, thereby restoring equilibrium between lipid synthesis and degradation. Treatment is prescribed for adult patients confirmed as CYP2D6 extensive or intermediate metabolizers through genetic testing. Larglustat 84mg Capsule does not cure Gaucher disease but provides effective long-term stabilisation and symptom improvement with consistent use. Patients require metabolic and genetic assessment prior to treatment initiation. The capsule is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to Eliglustat or related agents. Caution is warranted in patients with pre-existing cardiac conditions or those receiving medications that modulate hepatic enzyme activity.

Eliglustat is a glucosylceramide synthase inhibitor. It works by: Reducing the production of glucosylceramide, the fatty substance that accumulates in Gaucher disease. Restoring metabolic balance by lowering substrate buildup. Preventing progression of organ and bone damage associated with Gaucher disease. Over time, patients may see improvements in spleen and liver size, blood counts, fatigue levels, and bone discomfort.

Take the capsule orally, with or without food. Swallow whole; do not crush, chew, or open the capsule. Your healthcare provider will determine the correct dose based on CYP2D6 metabolic status. Take at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is close to the next dose. Do not double the dose.
