Product Introduction

Lasinone 5mg Capsule is a metabolic disorders medicine containing the active ingredient Nitisinone, an enzyme inhibitor. It is used to treat hereditary tyrosinemia type 1 (adults, adolescents, and children of all ages) and alkaptonuria (adults), both rare diseases. The medicine works by blocking the breakdown of the amino acid tyrosine and preventing the accumulation of harmful substances. Your doctor may recommend a specialised diet while you take Nitisinone for hereditary tyrosinemia type 1 (HT-1) or alkaptonuria (AKU) to manage your condition effectively.

Do not take Lasinone 5mg Capsule if you are allergic to Nitisinone or any ingredients in the medication. Before starting this medicine, consult your doctor. Inform your doctor if you have or have had any liver or kidney conditions. Notify your doctor if you have leukopenia (reduced white blood cells in the blood) or thrombocytopenia (reduced platelet count in the blood). Your doctor will monitor platelet and white blood cell counts before starting treatment.

During treatment, regular eye examinations will be conducted to monitor for any potential effects on the eyes. Blood samples will be taken to assess how well the treatment is working and to detect any possible blood disorders. Regular liver check-ups will be performed if you receive Lasinone 5mg Capsule for hereditary tyrosinemia type 1. Follow-up appointments with your doctor every six months are recommended, with shorter intervals if you experience any side effects.
