Product Introduction
Lasix injection contains furosemide, a diuretic used to treat oedema (excessive fluid accumulation) and high blood pressure. Oedema may result from heart, lung, kidney, or liver disease. The medication works by helping the kidneys remove excess water that the body does not require.
Do not use Lasix injection if you are allergic to furosemide, other sulphonamide-related medicines, or any ingredient in the formulation. Avoid use if you have anuria, impaired kidney function, kidney failure, severe kidney damage, very low potassium levels, very low sodium levels, very low levels of other electrolytes, dehydration, low blood pressure, are taking potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics, have liver cirrhosis, have liver encephalopathy, have Addison's disease, have digitalis poisoning, or are breastfeeding.
Before starting treatment with Lasix injection, inform your doctor if you have hypovolaemia (low blood volume) or are at risk of low blood pressure, hypoproteinaemia (low blood protein levels) from kidney damage, liver congestion or other liver disease, kidney problems, diabetes or use insulin, advanced age, are taking medications that lower blood pressure, have prostate problems or difficulty urinating, have a history of gout or abnormal blood condition, or have scheduled blood or urine tests.
Uses

How it works
Lasix injection acts by blocking the reabsorption of sodium, chloride, and water in the kidneys, mainly in the ascending limb of the loop of Henle. This inhibition increases urine production, eliminating excess fluid from the body and reducing fluid retention. Ultimately, this diuretic effect helps lower blood pressure.
How to Use
Lasix injection will be administered to you by a healthcare professional in a hospital setting. It is usually administered in muscle or vein (intravenous). Your doctor will decide the dose, route of administration, and frequency based on your disease condition and other factors.
