Product Introduction

Lazid Tablet is a combination medicine containing Lamivudine and Zidovudine. It is used to treat HIV-1 infection in combination with other medicines. The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) attacks and destroys immune system cells; consequently, the body's ability to fight infections decreases and, in severe cases, may result in death. Patients with neutropenia (low white blood cell count) or anaemia (low red blood cell count) should not use zidovudine or lamivudine. If you have any liver disease, including hepatitis B or C, kidney disease, or are overweight, inform your doctor. Lipodystrophy, characterised by fat loss in the face, arms, and legs, is a common side effect of this medication; treatment should be discontinued if these symptoms develop. Do not share your toothbrush or other personal items, such as razors, with anyone else. Discuss appropriate sexual practices with your doctor. The kidneys are the primary organs through which Lazid Tablet is eliminated from the body. If you have impaired kidney function, your healthcare provider may adjust the dosage to prevent potential adverse effects. Regular monitoring of kidney function during treatment is important. This medication can be prescribed to children with HIV, although dosages and formulations may vary.
