Product Introduction
Lefno 5mg Tablet is an antirheumatic medication belonging to the class of disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs). It contains Leflunomide as its active ingredient and is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, a chronic inflammatory condition affecting the joints. The medication is also indicated for psoriatic arthritis, an inflammatory arthritis that occurs in some individuals with psoriasis. Psoriatic arthritis affects the joints and can cause pain, swelling, stiffness, and reduced range of motion.
Lefno 5mg Tablet is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to Leflunomide or any of its components. Medical consultation is necessary before taking this medication if you have a history of interstitial lung disease, tuberculosis, skin ulcers, unexplained chronic diarrhea, liver problems, or kidney problems. Your doctor may perform certain diagnostic tests and prescribe a lower dose if necessary.
Certain vaccinations may not be recommended during treatment with this drug because it can affect the immune system, potentially impacting vaccine effectiveness or safety. This drug persists in the body for a considerable period even after discontinuation. Vaccination plans should be discussed with your doctor before initiating treatment. If you are currently experiencing severe infection, it may be necessary to delay or avoid starting Lefno 5mg Tablet treatment until the infection has resolved.
This drug is contraindicated during pregnancy because it may have harmful effects on a developing fetus and may also be present in breast milk. Alcohol consumption while taking this medication can further stress the liver and lead to liver toxicity or other complications. Alcohol should be avoided during treatment with this medication.
