Product Introduction
Lefron 20mg Tablet is an antirheumatic medication belonging to the class of disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs). It contains leflunomide as its active ingredient and is indicated for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, a chronic inflammatory condition affecting the joints. The medication is also used in psoriatic arthritis, an inflammatory arthritis that develops in some individuals with psoriasis. Psoriatic arthritis affects joints and may cause pain, swelling, stiffness, and reduced range of motion.
Lefron 20mg Tablet is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to leflunomide or any component of the formulation. Prior consultation with a physician is necessary if patients have a history of interstitial lung disease, tuberculosis, skin ulcers, unexplained chronic diarrhoea, or liver or kidney dysfunction. A physician may conduct diagnostic tests and prescribe a reduced dose where appropriate.
Certain vaccinations are not recommended during treatment with this medication, as it can affect immune system function and may compromise vaccine effectiveness or safety. This drug persists in the body for a considerable period following discontinuation. Vaccination plans should be discussed with a physician before commencing treatment. If patients are experiencing a severe infection, initiation of Lefron 20mg Tablet treatment may need to be delayed or avoided until the infection has resolved.
This medication is contraindicated during pregnancy due to potential harmful effects on fetal development and may be present in breast milk. Concurrent alcohol consumption may increase hepatic stress and lead to liver toxicity or related complications. Alcohol intake should be avoided during treatment.
