Product Introduction

Lemtrada 12mg Infusion 1.2ml is an immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory medicine, classified as a monoclonal antibody, containing the active ingredient Alemtuzumab. It is primarily used to treat relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) in adults and, in some cases, to manage certain types of leukaemia (such as chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, CLL) or for immune system suppression before transplant procedures. While Lemtrada 12mg Infusion 1.2ml does not cure multiple sclerosis or leukaemia, it helps to slow disease progression, reduce relapse frequency, and manage immune-related tissue damage. This medication works by targeting and destroying immune cells that attack healthy tissues, thereby rebalancing the immune response. The medicine is administered under medical supervision as an intravenous infusion. Due to its strong immunosuppressive effects, it is typically given in treatment cycles, and patients with MS or leukaemia are closely monitored before, during, and after each infusion.

Uses

Lemtrada 12mg Infusion 1.2ml is used in the treatment of the following: Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS) Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL) Pre-transplant Conditioning (off-label use)

How it works

Lemtrada 12mg Infusion 1.2ml contains alemtuzumab, a medicine that targets and removes certain white blood cells that are overactive in diseases like multiple sclerosis and leukaemia. These cells can damage healthy parts of the body by reducing them.

Expert Tips

Take only under medical supervision: Alemtuzumab must be given in a hospital or clinic due to the risk of serious immune-related side effects. Attend all follow-up tests: Regular blood and urine tests (up to 4 years) are essential to monitor for delayed side effects. Use reliable contraception : Women should avoid pregnancy during treatment and for at least 4 months after the last dose. Report signs of infection : Contact your doctor if you develop fever, cough, or sore throat, as the immune system may be weakened. Avoid live vaccines: Do not take live or weakened vaccines unless advised by your doctor during and after treatment.
