Product Introduction
Lenvima 4mg Capsule contains the active ingredient Lenvatinib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It is indicated for progressive or advanced thyroid cancer when radioactive iodine therapy has not been beneficial. It is also used to treat previously untreated hepatocellular carcinoma in patients who are not eligible for surgical treatment. Anaplastic thyroid carcinoma, an advanced form of thyroid cancer, typically occurs in patients aged 60 years and above. It is characterised by thyroid gland enlargement and hardness, and hoarseness of the voice resulting from paralysis of the laryngeal nerve. Hepatocellular carcinoma develops secondary to pre-existing liver disease such as cirrhosis or chronic hepatitis B infection. Patients with a history of allergic reaction to Lenvatinib or any component of this formulation should not use this medication. Patients must inform their dentist or oral surgeon of Lenvima 4mg Capsule use, as it can impair wound healing and increase the risk of bleeding.
Uses
Lenvima uses treat the following conditions: Certain types of advanced thyroid cancer Advanced Liver cancer Certain types of kidney cancer Endometrial cancer
How it works
Lenvima Capsule blocks the enzyme receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs). RTKs develop new blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients to the cells and help them grow. This medicine inhibits the receptors that facilitate the growth of blood vessels in tumor cells. RTKs are present in high concentrations in cancer cells, and administration of this medicine slows down the rate of cancer cells’ growth and multiplication.
