Product Introduction

Letrolive 2.5mg Tablet is an anti-cancer medication belonging to the aromatase inhibitor class. It is indicated as supportive therapy following primary treatment or as first-line therapy for postmenopausal women with early and advanced breast cancer whose tumours are hormone receptor-positive. Because elevated estrogen levels are associated with breast cancer development, this medicine lowers estrogen levels by inhibiting aromatase, the enzyme responsible for estrogen synthesis. This action aims to slow or halt cancer growth and spread to other body sites, consistent with clinical use of Letrolive 2.5mg. If you have not completed menopause, inform your doctor, as this medicine is ineffective in premenopausal women. Since Letrolive 2.5mg reduces female reproductive hormone levels, it is contraindicated in menstruating women due to potential fertility complications. Cholesterol level monitoring is important, as this medication may elevate cholesterol. Additionally, Letrolive 2.5mg may decrease bone mineral density; regular monitoring of bone parameters is recommended in consultation with your physician. During Letrolive 2.5mg treatment, effective contraception should be used and continued for at least 3 weeks following the final dose. Alternative aromatase inhibitors may be available if Letrolive 2.5mg is unsuitable for you, though consultation with your doctor is essential before considering alternatives.
