Product Introduction
Letronat 2.5mg tablet is an anti-cancer drug that belongs to the class of aromatase inhibitors. It is indicated as adjuvant therapy following primary treatment or as first-line therapy for postmenopausal women with early and advanced breast cancer whose tumours are hormone receptor-positive. Since elevated estrogen levels are associated with breast cancer development, this medicine reduces female reproductive hormone levels by blocking the enzyme aromatase, which is involved in estrogen production. This medicine aims to slow or halt the growth and spread to other body parts. Inform your physician if you have not attained menopause, as this medicine is not effective for premenopausal women. Since this medicine reduces female reproductive hormone levels, it is not advised for menstruating women as it is associated with fertility concerns. It is advised to monitor your cholesterol levels regularly as this medicine tends to elevate cholesterol. This medicine may also decrease bone mineral density. Hence, discuss with your physician and consider regular monitoring of your bone parameters. It is advised to use effective contraception during treatment and for at least 3 weeks after the last dose because Letronat 2.5mg tablet can cause foetal harm when administered.
Uses

Treatment for unknown advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Extended supportive therapy for postmenopausal women with early breast cancer who have already taken other anti-cancer medication.
How it works
The growth of some cancers in breasts are stimulated by estrogens. Letronat 2.5mg Tablet is a nonsteroidal compound that inhibits estrogen production by blocking the enzyme aromatase. This medicine reduces the tumor size and stops or slows the progression of the disease, avoiding the reoccurring of early-stage breast cancer and improving the survival rate.
