Product Introduction
Lidofix 2% gel 30gm contains lidocaine hydrochloride, a local anesthetic medication. It is used to produce local anaesthesia and relieve pain at the site of application. Lidocaine topical jelly or ointment is applied for numbing during various medical procedures, relieving pain and itching from minor burns, insect bites, poison ivy, cuts, or scratches, and treating painful urethritis. It is also used for pain control in urethral procedures, as a lubricant in intubation, and for treating sore throats and mouth ulcers. Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to lidocaine or other amide group local anesthetics. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have heart disease, blood disorders, or kidney or liver disease.
Uses
Numbing for medical procedures Pain and itching relief from burns, bites, and rashes Treatment for painful urethritis Pain control in urethral procedures Lubrication for intubation Treating sore throats and mouth ulcers
How it works
Lidofix 2% gel 30gm works by blocking the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses, primarily through decreasing ionic flux and blocking specific channels. This action results in local anesthesia, effectively preventing pain by inhibiting the signals at the nerve endings in the skin. This leads to the numbness effect. Unlike general anesthetics used in surgery, lignocaine does not cause unconsciousness.
How to Use
When using lidofix 2% gel 30gm, apply a small amount to the needed area and wait at least 3 hours before reapplying. Clean and dry the area thoroughly before use, and apply only to clean unbroken skin. Avoid covering with bandages or makeup unless advised by a doctor. For mouth sores, gently dab a small amount onto the sore area with a finger or cotton bud, avoiding the back of the mouth to prevent choking. For best results, use the gel after meals.
Side Effects
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Serious Choking Seizures, Cardiovascular depression Hypotension Common Blistering, crusting, irritation, itching, or reddening of the skin Cracked, dry, or scaly skin Metallic taste (when used for mouth sores) Difficulty swallowing
Expert Tips
Always follow the directions provided by a healthcare professional or on the package. Before widespread use, test a small amount on a small area to check for adverse reactions. Avoid applying it near sensitive areas like the eyes, nose, mouth, and broken or inflamed skin. After application, please wash your hands thoroughly unless they are in the treated area. When using lidofix 2% gel 30gm, it is vital that you strictly follow the recommended dosage and application frequency. Overusing or applying too frequently can cause serious side effects due to high plasma levels. If you experience severe reactions, seek medical help immediately. Be especially cautious if applying to areas with sepsis or damaged mucosa, as this increases the risk of rapid absorption. Always adhere to the guidelines for safe and effective use.
