Product Introduction

Lipodox 50mg Injection is an anticancer medication containing doxorubicin enclosed within a lipid-based liposomal formulation. Cancer occurs when cells undergo uncontrolled and abnormal multiplication. This medication is indicated for the treatment of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, multiple myeloma (a malignancy of plasma cells), and AIDS-related Kaposi's sarcoma. Patients with HIV infection face the highest risk of developing Kaposi's sarcoma, a cancer that arises in the lining of lymph and blood vessels. Lipodox 50mg Injection may be administered as monotherapy or in combination with other anticancer agents. This medication is not recommended for use in adolescents and children. Patients should use effective contraception during treatment and for at least six months following the final dose. Prior to commencing Lipodox 50mg Injection, inform your doctor if you have allergies to peanuts or soya, are receiving medications for cardiac or hepatic disorders, have diabetes, Kaposi's sarcoma, or have oral complications.

How it works

Doxorubicin inhibits the activity of the enzyme topoisomerase II, which is involved in the DNA (genetic material) multiplication of cancer cells. This prevents the growth and multiplication of cancer cells. The unique formulation process of Lipodox 50mg Injection increases the time this medicine is circulating in the blood. It also helps deliver drugs from blood to the cancerous tissue rather than the healthy tissue.

How to Use

Your dose and frequency of administration will be decided by your physician based on your disease condition and other factors. It will be given to you by a healthcare professional. Do not self-administer.
