Product Introduction

Lobula 0.5mg tablet contains lobeglitazone, an antidiabetic drug belonging to the thiazolidinedione class. It is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Lobula 0.5mg tablet may be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic medications, including metformin or sulfonylureas. It is effective in reducing blood glucose levels and improving HbA1C levels in patients with T2DM. It has also demonstrated improvements in lipid profiles and liver function.

Lobula 0.5mg tablet is generally well-tolerated, although side effects can occur, including weight gain, oedema, and liver-related problems. Weight gain is a recognised adverse effect; patients who are already overweight or obese should use this medication with caution. Oedema (fluid accumulation) may develop, and patients predisposed to this condition should use the medication with caution.

Lobula 0.5mg tablet is contraindicated in patients with a known allergy to lobeglitazone or other thiazolidinedione drugs, and in those with a history of liver failure or severe heart failure. It should be used with caution in patients with a history of heart failure, as it may worsen this condition. Discussion of the risks and benefits with a doctor is important before initiating treatment.

How it works

Lobula 0.5mg tablet is a pure PPAR-alpha agonist, meaning that it binds to and activates the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα) in cells. PPARα is a transcription factor that plays a role in regulating metabolism, including glucose and lipid metabolism. By activating PPARα, it increases the number of insulin receptors on cells, making them more sensitive to insulin. This leads to a decrease in blood sugar levels.
