Product Introduction
Luprorin 4mg Injection contains the active ingredient Leuprolide acetate. It belongs to the class of medicines called Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH) agonists. Luprorin 4mg Injection is used to treat prostate cancer in men, hormone-responsive breast cancer, endometriosis (tissue that normally lines the interior of the uterus grows outside of it), and uterine fibroids (noncancerous growths of the uterus) in women. This medicine is also used in treating central precocious puberty, a condition in which a child's body begins to develop into an adult at an early age due to certain hormonal releases.
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Leuprolide acetate or any other ingredients, including Goserelin and Triptorlin, or to medicines and products relating to gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH). During treatment, existing symptoms may temporarily worsen due to initial increase in sex steroids in the body. This effect will subside with continued use of the medicine. Consult your physician if you have concerns.
This medicine is not recommended in pregnant and breastfeeding women and in patients with abnormal vaginal bleeding. It is not recommended if you experience seizures or mood disorders. Men who experience urinary blockage or who have undergone testicular excision should inform their physician. Regular bone density measurement is advised. If you are a woman of childbearing age, use non-hormonal contraceptives while taking Luprorin 4mg Injection. Inform your doctor if you experience pressure on the spinal cord, urinary disorders, or haematuria (blood in the urine).
Before beginning therapy, inform your doctor about any underlying medical disorders you may have, such as diabetes, seizures, heart problems including chest pain, irregular heartbeats, depression, or increased risk of osteoporosis (thinning of the bones). Inform your healthcare professional about all medicines you are taking, including prescription, over-the-counter, herbal, and vitamin supplements, before starting therapy.
Uses
Luprorin 4mg Injection is used in the treatment of the following: Prostate cancer Hormone-responsive breast cancer in perimenopausal (around menopause) women Endometriosis (a painful illness in which the tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus grows outside of your uterus) Central precocious puberty in children under 10 years (a childâs body begins to change into an adult too soon caused by a release of certain hormones)
How it works
Luprorin 4mg Injection causes the pituitary gland's GnRH receptors to become desensitized, which lowers the amount of LH and FSH secreted. In the end, this leads to a decrease in the synthesis of sex hormones, specifically estrogen in females and testosterone in males. This helps to slow the growth of cancer cells, reduce the size of uterine fibroids, and alleviate the symptoms of endometriosis and early onset of puberty.
How to Use
Luprorin 4mg Injection is usually administered in the arm, thigh or abdomen. If this injection is recommended for you, it will be given by a healthcare professional. Do not self-administer. Your physician will choose the dosage and administration frequency based on the medical condition because it differs for each person.
