Materna FSH 75IU Injection

Materna FSH 75IU Injection contains urofollitropin, an ovulation stimulator belonging to the gonadotropin class of medicines. It is indicated for treating infertility in women who are not ovulating, including those with polycystic ovarian disease, where previous treatment with clomiphene citrate has been ineffective. The medicine is also used to stimulate multiple follicle development and support fertility in women undergoing in-vitro fertilization (IVF) or other assisted conception procedures. It is further indicated for treating infertility in men with low sperm count.

Do not use Materna FSH 75IU Injection if you are allergic to urofollitropin or any other ingredient in this medicine. Do not use this medicine if you have a tumour in the pituitary gland (located at the base of the brain and responsible for producing certain hormones, including growth hormone) or in the hypothalamus (an area beneath the thalamus that regulates body conditions including temperature and blood pressure) or in the uterus, ovaries, breast, testicles, or prostate gland.

Before starting treatment, you will be assessed for underactive thyroid problems, hormone levels, and tumours of the pituitary and hypothalamus. Do not use this medicine if you have ovarian cysts unrelated to polycystic ovarian disease, vaginal bleeding, early menopause, physical problems affecting the reproductive organs, if your uterus has been removed, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Inform your physician immediately if you experience symptoms including abdominal pain and swelling, weight gain, diarrhoea, difficulty breathing, or decreased urination. Inform your physician of any liver problems or history of blood clotting disease before beginning treatment with Materna FSH 75IU Injection.

Infertility in women

In the absence of sufficient endogenous luteinizing hormone (LH), Materna FSH 75IU Injection bind to the follicle stimulating hormone receptor (FSH), resulting in ovulation. It also attaches to the LH receptor, causing appropriate hormone release and treats infertility in women.

Materna FSH 75IU Injection will be given to you by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic setting. It is given as an intramuscular injection (into your muscles) or under the skin. Do not self-administer the injection. Your doctor will decide the dose, route of administration and duration of the treatment based on your disease severity, body weight, and other factors.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. If you have missed any dosing appointments, inform your doctor and schedule immediately. Materna FSH 75IU Injection can increase your risk of ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside of the womb) if you have a history of fallopian tube disease, miscarriage, multiple pregnancies (twins and triplets), and birth defects in the baby. Your doctor will regularly perform ultrasound scans and blood tests to monitor your response to the treatment.
