Mebax 135mg Capsule contains Chlordiazepoxide and Mebeverine as active components. It is used to treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The main symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome include spasms, stomach pain, bloating, diarrhoea, and pellet-like or ribbon-like stools. This medicine relieves these symptoms and excessive anxiety associated with IBS. It is not advisable for children and adolescents under 18 years of age. You should avoid this medication if you are hypersensitive to Mebax 135mg Capsule or any of its components. Inform your doctor if you have a history of drug or alcohol abuse, mental illness, myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness disorder), severe liver disorders, breathing problems, kidney disorders, or have recently experienced loss of a loved one before taking this medication. Do not consume alcohol while taking Mebax 135mg Capsule, as it may cause drowsiness.

Treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

Chlordiazepoxide increases the concentration of inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA and chloride ions. This reduces the excitation of the neurons, producing muscle relaxation and sedation. Mebeverine is an antispasmodic that relaxes the muscles by inhibiting gastrointestinal propulsive motility and gastric acid secretion.

Mebax 135mg Capsule is administered orally, meaning it is taken by mouth. The healthcare provider will determine the dosage and duration of treatment based on the specific infection and individual factors.

Mebax 135mg Capsule causes some side effects like all medications, although not everyone will experience them. Do not take Mebax 135mg Capsule at least two hours before or after taking other medicines as it may interact with other medicines. Inform your doctor if you have an enlarged prostate gland, glaucoma, or trouble passing urine. To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. If you miss a dose of this medication, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
